CUSTOM CYCLE TOURS TERMS AND CONDITIONS

BIKE HIRE

Terms & Conditions of Custom Cycle Tours, Cycle Hire:

  • Bicycle hire is subject to availability.

  • All bicycles are ridden at your own risk. Accepting the hire agreement is accepting full liability for any accident or injury to either the hirer or any third party. The hirer is always personally liable for any accident that they may cause or damage to people or property. Personal insurance cover is not included. We recommend you take out personal insurance cover prior to the hire period. 

  • The hirer must inspect the bicycle before accepting it for any damage or defects. Acceptance of the bicycle is acceptance that it is in good roadworthy condition. Any marks, damage or defects should be notified on the hire agreement form prior to signing. The hirer is responsible for returning the bicycle(s) in no worse condition than at the commencement of the hire period.

  • Approximately 50% deposit is due at tiem of booking and the balance is due at the start of a tour or delivery of bike hire. 

  • Bicycles and equipment hired on a rental agreement remains the property of Custom Cycle Tours, and if the equipment is not returned, or damaged beyond repair we reserve the right to charge the hirers for the full cost of the equipment and any loss incurred within a 1 week period.

  • The hire fee includes helmet and lock. Any loss or damage of accessories will incur and additional charge.

  • Custom Cycle Tours has the necessary risk assessments and public liability insurance in place

  • Please cycle sensibly, with respect for others and the natural habitat. Cyclists are expected to follow the Highway Code in particular the “Extra rules for Cyclists” (Rules 187-211) 

  • Anyone cycling in a discourteous or unsafe manner will have the equipment repossessed with no refund of hire charges. 

  • All bikes must be returned to the Custom Cycle Tours at the agreed time and place, unless delivery and collection has been arranged as part of the cycle hire agreement, otherwise the hirer is responsible for the safe return of the bicycle to CCT at the end of the rental period. Failure to return the bicycle may result in additional hire charges being levied. 

  • Helmets must be worn at all times and bikes must be locked whenever unattended. Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an individual who is over 16. Cycle helmets are provided free of charge and all cyclists must use them. 

  • Cycles should be locked to a permanent fixture whenever left unattended. The method of securing should include the front wheel and the frame. Theft of an unlocked bicycle will be the responsibility of the hirer and will be subject to a charge to cover the replacement of the bicycle and its accessories.  

  • Custom Cycle Tours reserves the right not to hire equipment to an individual for whatever reason. 

  • Custom Cycle Tours reserves the right to charge for repairs and if necessary, replacements.

  • The hirer will not undertake any manoeuvre which is beyond their level of skill or outside the bike’s capability.

  • The hirer must be in good health and their eyesight up to the standard required for a road driving test. They must not be suffering from any medical conditions or disability which is likely to adversely affect normal control of the bicycle.

  • In the event of a mechanical failure, other than punctures, where the hirer is unable to return the bike, please secure the bike and contact Loz on 01872 218558 or 07574 713200.

  • I/We accept that late return of bicycles will incur a £10 per hour extra charge

 

GUIDED DAY TOURS 

Please read these booking conditions carefully, they form an important part of the contract for your tour holiday, event or day tour.

All services advertised on our website are provided by Custom Cycle Tours or arranged with a third party where liability is with us

  1. In these terms and conditions, ‘Custom Cycle Tours’, ‘the company’, ’we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’ will be the titles of customer cycle tours, ‘you’, ‘your’ and ‘the customer’ will be the titles of those making a booking.

  2. The services are sold subject to the following Booking Terms and Conditions, which shall be valid as an agreement between the customer and the company.

Insurance 

  1. If you are bringing your own bike and equipment. We recommend that you check your insurance policy to make sure it is covered against loss or damage.

  2. All those taking part in the activities organised by The Company must be over 14 years of age, unless agreed prior to confirmation.

Deposit & Payment for Day Tours

  1. We take a 50% deposit at the time of the booking. The balance due on the tour day.

  2. Day tours include the cost of your bike hire and equipment.

Medical Conditions and Analogous. 

  1. Your personal safety is of paramount importance to us and therefore it is imperative that you advise us at the time of booking of any conditions, medical or otherwise, as well as dietary restrictions that you may have and/or that might affect you or other passengers during the tour. You will have the opportunity to disclose this information when we send out a pre tour form for completion.

  2. Once your date is booked, the changes and cancellation terms from point  will apply

Your are responsible for

  1. You must be physically fit enough to take the tour that you have booked.  We will endeavour to encourage you to complete your tour days, but we do not accept any responsibility if you are unable to due to lack of fitness, illness or injury.

  2. You will ride your bicycle or ebike responsibly at all times, we do not accept responsibility for deliberate misuse of your bike

  3. You will ensure that you have suitable insurance cover at all times during your Tour.

  4. You accept that cycling on a public highway or cycle route carries its own risks and you have made your Booking on the basis that you undertake the Tour at your own risk.  Whilst it is not compulsory, we do advise the wearing of cycle helmets at all times.

  5.  You agree not to start your cycle tour unless you are sure that your hired Cycle / E-Bike is in proper working order and that you know how to use it.

  6.  You will stop and report any issues with your cycles such as with the breaks, steering or wheels, etc. as soon as you notice them. You agree not to continue with your tour until we have checked through the cycle / E-Bike and are happy that the cycle is safe to continue.

 

Price

  1. Please note that we reserve the right to change prices displayed on the website at any given moment. Prices will be also displayed in the confirmation email we will send you upon our confirmation of your booking. 

  2. In consideration of the company arranging your Tour in accordance with these terms and conditions you will pay us the price per person set out in final quote for the Tour of your choice.

  3. Payments can be made by our online portal or bank transfer.

Day tour cancellations and amendments

  1. The 50% deposit is non refundable.  Subject to a £10 admin fee, we can change your tour to the next available date, or issue a credit note if cancelled within 7 days of the date of your tour. 

  2. We reserve the right to change your tour date if we do not meet the minimum number of people required to make the tour viable.

  3. Tours cannot be cancelled due to rain, but we will postpone a tour in adverse weather conditions. 

  

If We Change or Cancel Your Booking

1. As a general rule, we reserve the right to cancel your booking or change any of the facilities, services or prices described on our website.

2. We will endeavour to advise you of any changes known at the time of booking.

 

Privacy and cookies

1. Our policy covers how we collect and use your data in relation to your tour booking with us, through the use of our website.

2. It also covers any personal information you provide via telephone, in written communications (both letter and email), by text message and in person.

3. Our collection and use of your data and this policy are all in line with the relevant laws and regulations; Data Protection Act 1998 and 2018 (DPA), the General Data Protection Regulation 2016 (GDPR) together, and with, other laws defined as “Data Protection Laws”.
